Betty R Ayres

Betty R. Ayres, 89, of Topton, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Alfred H. Ayres, who died August 13, 1974.

Born in Lyon Station, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Leah M. (Boyer) Reed. Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. She was a 1941 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Mrs. Ayres worked as a clerk-teller from 1941 to 1953 and 1965 until her retirement in 1983 at the former National Bank of Topton.

She is survived by Daughter, Susan E. Ayres Davis wife of James B. Davis, Jr., Wilmington, DE and Brothers, Raymond D. Reed, Indiana, PA and Robert E. husband of Janet (Sanders) Reed, Kutztown.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Union Cemetery of Bowers will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the funeral home. There will be a luncheon and fellowship immediately following the memorial service in the Tower Court Dining Room on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 37, Topton, PA 19562-0037. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
