Betty E. "Daisy" (Frederick) Trout, 97, of Kutztown, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kutztown. She was the widow of Lee W. Trout, who died on March 7, 2013 and whom she married February 26, 1949.
Born in Kutztown, Betty was a daughter of the late Paul J. and Marie M. (Moser) Frederick and was a 1945 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She worked as a waitress at several local establishments, including the Dutch Kitchen, the Quality Shoppe, and the Berkleigh County Club, and lastly, in the cafeteria at Kutztown Area High School. She was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown, a former member of both the Kutztown and Lyons Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliaries; Kutztown Historical Society and was a Charter member of the former Kutztown Jaycee Wives. Betty was a very artistic and crafty woman who enjoyed painting wood crafts as well as painting pictures and adult coloring books. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Lee and their friends and going on vacations to Leisure Point, Delaware. Nothing meant more to Mom than her family. Her love for all of us was the gift she gave us every day of her life.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne "Sue" M. (Trout), wife of Jeffrey J. DeTurk, and Renee M. (Trout), wife of Timothy Vanek, both of Kutztown; five grandchildren, Timothy, husband of Lauren (Mantz) DeTurk, Kutztown, Spencer, husband of Jessica (Cooke) DeTurk, Coopersburg, Christopher, husband of Jaime (Austin) Vanek, Kutztown, Amy (Vanek), wife of Luke Hubler, Kutztown, and Kati (Vanek), wife of Charles Newberry, Kutztown; and 11 great grandchildren, Olivyah, Emma, Karlie, Evan, Peyton, Parker, Carter, Harlow, Hudson, Ben and Nate.
Along with her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by a son, Timothy L. Trout in 1976 and a sister, Dorothy (Frederick) Hinchman.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 E. Main Street, Kutztown, PA with The Reverend James W. Schlegel officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Fleetwood (Dryville). Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
