Betty A. (Mertz) Brensinger, 89, of Topton, died on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had been a resident since November. She was the widow of Willard N. Brensinger, Sr., who died on March 15, 1999.
Born in the village of Minesite, Lower Macungie Township, Betty was a daughter of the late William Mertz and Ida Siegfried. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, and attended Emmaus High School. Betty was employed as a laborer at the former Wenton Shoe Co., and Adidas Shoe Co., Kutztown, for 40 years, until her retirement. She was an avid BINGO player and Phillies fan.
Betty is survived by Sons, Willard N. Brensinger, Jr., and his wife, Susan, of Topton, and Glenn L. Brensinger, and his wife, Judy, of Newport News, VA; 2 Grandchildren, Steven J. Brensinger, and his wife, Diane, of Mertztown, and Stacy L. (Brensinger) DeLong, and her husband, Travis, of Fleetwood. There are also 3 Great-Grandchildren, John and Olivia Brensinger and Ashley DeLong. Betty was predeceased by her Husband, Parents, and 2 Brothers, Earl Geist and Lester Mertz.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Jimmy Lee Werley officiating. Interment will follow in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
