Bessie L Webb

Bessie L. Webb, 91, of Kohler Road, Bowers, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was the wife of the late Russell R. Webb, who died November 25, 2004.

Born in Centre Township, PA, she was a daughter of Mary M. (Miller) Blatt, Mohrsville, and the late Lloyd M. Blatt. She was a graduate of Empire Beauty School, Reading. She operated a beauty shop in her home for many years. She also ran the beauty salons at The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township, and Laurel Center, Genesis Elder Care, Tilden Township. She worked as a cook at the former Reeser’s Restaurant, Tuckerton. She also worked as a waitress and cook at Moselem Springs Inn, Fleetwood. She owned and operated the former Bessie’s Home Cookin’, Topton for over 10 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Lyon’s Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Rockland Township.

She is survived by Son, Jamey R., husband of Traci (Hollenbach) Webb, Fleetwood; Step-daughter, Sarah Jayne (Symons) wife of David P. Romig, Kutztown. Sisters, MaryJane (Blatt) Farr, Mohrsville, Sarah (Blatt) Steficek, Hamburg; Brothers, James F. Blatt, Leesport, John E. Blatt, Boyertown, Lloyd M. Blatt, Jr., Mohrsville. She was pre-deceased by a Sister, Joan R. (Blatt) Reber in 1982 and Brother, William L. Blatt in 1996. In addition, there are two Grandchildren, Alexandria J. and Gabriella C. Webb, and two Step-Grandchildren, Rebecca J. and Joshua D. Romig.

Funeral Services are Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM from Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Rockland Township. Friends may call Thursday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the church.
