Bertha M Burkholder

Bertha M. (Weaver) Burkholder, 91, of Kutztown, died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Moses and Wilma Zimmerman. She was the widow of Eli Z. Burkholder who died on October 2, 2005.

Born in Caernarvon Township, Berks Co., she was a daughter of the late Peter S. and Mattie E. (Martin) Weaver. Mrs. Burkholder was a member of Center Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference, Kutztown.

She is survived by 4 Daughters, Wilma W. (Burkholder), wife of Moses S. Zimmerman, Kutztown, Ellen W. (Burkholder), wife of Phares K. Newswanger, Kutztown, Lucy W. (Burkholder), wife of Lawrence K. Newswanger, Hubbardston, Michigan, Alma W. (Burkholder), wife of Leroy B. Snyder, Fleetwood; 8 Sons, Walter W., husband of Emma L. (Zimmerman) Burkholder, Kutztown, Landis W., husband of Rachel N. (Weaver) Burkholder, Kutztown, Eli W., husband of Irene Z. (Nolt) Burkholder, Bowers, Aaron W., husband of Elva B. (Shirk) Burkholder, Kutztown, Edward W., husband of Lucy Z. (Nolt) Burkholder, Kutztown, Steve W., widower of Esther W. (Sauder) Burkholder, Fleetwood, Lawrence W., husband of Marlene B. (Snyder) Burkholder, Kutztown, Weaver W., husband of Edna M. (Martin) Burkholder, Saegerstown (Crawford County), PA; Sister-in-law, Esther M. Weaver; 91 Grandchildren; 212 Great-Grandchildren. Bertha was predeceased by her Husband; Parents; Son, Elvin W. Burkholder; Sister, Martha (Weaver) Shirk; Brothers, Phares Weaver and Allen Weaver; 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 9:00 AM in the residence of Moses and Wilma Zimmerman, with services continuing in Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown (Maxatawny Township), at 9:30 AM. Interment in adjoining church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the residence of her daughter and son-in-law.
