Mrs. Bernice E. Miller

Bernice E. (Kerr) Miller, 81, of Virginville, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown. She was the loving wife of Harvey S. Miller, whom she married on November 28, 1964, and just celebrated 60 years of marriage together.

Born on her family's farm in Perry Township, Bernice was a daughter of the late Warren L. and Evelyn M. (Trexler) Kerr, and was a graduate of the former Perry Township High School in Shoemakersville. Over her career, Bernice held various jobs including employment at Saucony Shoe Factory, Kutztown, J.C. Gilardone and Son Inc., Virginville, Big John's Sandwich Shop, Hamburg, Kerr's Produce Stand, Richmond Twp., owned and operated by her father, and finally, Walmart, Temple, until her retirement in 2014.

Bernice was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville, and enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the casinos, watching television, playing on her tablet and sewing. She also had quite the Longaberger basket collection. Above all, Bernice loved her family, especially her granddaughters, whom she was an avid supporter of their events.

Along with her husband of 60 years, Harvey, Bernice is survived by her two children, Tracy D. (Miller) Christman, Kirbyville, and Michael T. Miller, and wife Christine, of Adamstown; four granddaughters, Amber Christman, Samantha Smith, Lauren Miller, and Cassandra Miller; and a great-grandson, Oliver Dylan Ray Christman; and was predeceased by her son, Ronald Keith Bailey on December 18, 2020.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Bernice's life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Krumsville (Grimville). Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
