Bernadine R Frey

Bernadine R. “Bernie” Frey, 85, of Luther Meadows, Topton died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Robert A. Frey who died September 17, 1977. Her first husband, LeRoy Barto died July 17, 1957.

Born in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Luther R. and Louisa A.S. (Peifley) Shade. Mrs. Frey was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. She was a member of Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Lyon Station. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Marcus Manufacturing Co., Topton, for 29 years retiring in 1992.

She is survived by Son, Dennis L. husband of Joanne L. (Smith) Barto, Mertztown, and a Grandson, Larry D. Barto. Other survivors include Sisters, Nancy (Shade) wife of Karl Gambler, Topton, Arlene (Shade) widow of Kenneth Wright, East Texas and Joyce (Shade) wife of Donald Ruch, Cetronia. Mrs. Frey was predeceased by Brothers, William, Franklin, Fred, Kenneth and Paul Shade.

Graveside Services and inurnment will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 1:30 PM in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. There are no calling hours.
