Beatrice R Carlisle

Beatrice R. Carlisle, 88, of Kutztown, formerly of Pottstown, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Presbyterian Hospital Campus, Pittsburgh after being stricken while visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday. She was the widow of John C. Carlisle who died Dec. 1, 1987.

Born in Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Alvin P. and Mary R. (Ridge) Ross. Beatrice was a 1941 graduate of Bensalem High School, Bensalem, PA. She was a homemaker. Beatrice was a private pilot, earning her pilot’s license at the age of 50.

She is survived by Sons, Neil R. Carlisle, Texas, Douglas L. husband of Brendi (Beakley) Carlisle, Pottstown, Robert J. husband of Nyoka (Rhoads) Carlisle, Douglasville, Bruce C. husband of Nora C. (Cabaltera) Carlisle, Fleetwood and Brian D. husband of Laurie A. (Sunseri) Carlisle, Kutztown; Brother, Sherwood Ross, Trevose, PA. She is also survived by Grandchildren, Betsey (Carlisle) Miller, Meaghan (Carlisle) Cherney, Jennifer Carlisle and Clark M. Carlisle. She was predeceased by Siblings, Marjorie (Ross) Sponeybarger, Janice (Ross) Roma, Doris (Ross) Hagerty, Caroline Ross, Donald Ross, Kenneth Ross, Gerald Ross, Stanley Ross, and Alvin Ross.

Funeral Services are Friday, December 2, 2011 at 4:00 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment is private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
