Ms. Barbara T. Shidisky, 76, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kutztown. Born in Pottsville, PA, Barbara was a daughter of the late George A. and Eva T. (Yurkonis) Shidisky and was a 1966 graduate of Immaculate Heart High School, Fountain Springs, PA.
Barbara was employed by Sharadin's pharmacy in Frackville where she was a sales clerk and soda fountain operator. Barbara was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown and was an avid reader. Barbara was also an accomplished singer who sang in several church choirs as well as being in high demand for many weddings in the Frackville area.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Joseph G. Shidisky, also of Fleetwood, and several cousins and their families.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, with The Rev. John C. Maria as Celebrant. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the church. Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery, 102 Morea Road, Frackville, will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
The family requests contributions be made in Barbara's memory to the Endowment for the Care of Retired Priests, Attn: Bishop Schlert, Diocese of Allentown, P.O. Box F, Allentown, PA 18105-1538.
