Barbara Eck

Barbara A. (Strunk) Eck, 81, formerly of Mertztown, PA, and most recently a resident at Buehrle Center at The Lutheran Home at Topton, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown. She was the widow of Dan H. Eck who died on November 11, 2019 and whom she married on September 16, 1961.

Born in Allentown, Barbara was a daughter of the late Aaron L. and Minnie E. (Miller) Strunk. She was employed as an assembler by East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Lyon Station, for 20 years until her retirement in 2012. Prior to that, Barbara was employed by the former Caloric Corporation, and the former U.S. Seating Co. Inc., both of Topton.

Barbara enjoyed crocheting and making and painting ceramics. Above all, Barbara loved her family, especially entertaining and hosting large family gatherings at her home.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Yvonne B. (Eck), wife of James A. Stettler, Kutztown, and Barry D., husband of Coralie (Lahr) Eck, Mertztown; brother, Willard R. Strunk, Delaware; three grandsons, James A. Stettler II, Nathan J. Stettler, and Weylin B. Eck; and six great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, Barbara was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Strunk and Bernice (Strunk) Bauer; and brother, Harold Strunk.

Services and burial in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown, will be held privately by her family.
