Audrey Meck, 83, of Old State Road, Reading, PA died Thursday, July 26, 2007 died in the residence of her daughter, Virginia, Five Points Road, Mertztown, PA She was the wife of the late Bernard H. Meck who died on June 25, 200.
Born in Hartlepool, England, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Winifred (Howe) Harrison. She was a technician at Western Electric, Reading, for 30 years retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, #366, Kutztown. She served with the Royal Air Force, England, during WWII and was noted as being the first war bride to come to Kutztown. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all. She was a member of Lighthouse Community Church, Lyon Station.
She is survived by Son, Michael B. husband of MaryAnn (Light) Meck, Durham, NC; Daughter, Virginia A. (Meck) wife of Clair W. Wetzel, Mertztown; Sister, Kathleen (Harrison) wife of Norman Lillington, Kutztown; Brothers, Jack Harrison, Dublin, Ireland, Derek Harrison, Adelaide, Australia; 4 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by Sisters, Winifred (Harrison) Pallister, Doreen (Harrison) Taylor, Joan (Harrison) Atherton, Joyce (Harrison) Brook and Brother, Douglas Harrison.
Funeral Services are Monday, July 30, 2007 at 1:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. Interment with Military Honors in Huff’s Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Friends may call Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
