Arthur Peter Burnett

Arthur Peter Burnett, 73, of Kutztown, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 4:41PM in his home surrounded by family. He was the husband of Jeanie (Hendrick) Burnett. They were married June 5, 1964.

Born in Albany, NY, he was a son of the late Arthur C. and Audrey J. (Smith) Burnett. Peter, as he was affectionately known by family, was a U.S. Army veteran. In 1963 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering – Metallurgy from Virginia Tech, Blackburg, VA. Art Burnett went on to work for various companies in research and development of metallic products. He worked in Connecticut, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Since 1995 he owned and operated Business Link, Kutztown, a business services company specializing in packing and shipping, document finishing, printing and office supply sales.

He is survived by Wife, Son, Mark T. Burnett, Shakopee, Minn, daughter, Heather J. (Burnett) Arbuckle, Hillsborough, NJ, foster Daughter, Imelda Aguirre, Laredo, TX. In addition, he is survived by a Sister, Audrey “Penny” (Burnett) wife of Dennis Cline, Northville, NY and Brothers, Paul husband of Marjorie Burnett, Donna, TX and Clark husband of Paula Burnett, Sebastian, FL. There are also 4 Grandchildren, Aaron J. Burnett, Jessica E. Arbuckle, Kirby J. Burnett and John A. “Jack” Burnett.

There will be no services in Kutztown; instead, extended family will gather at the family gravesite in Berne, NY later in the fall for a celebration of Peter’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Elementary Education Scholarship Fund, Kutztown University Foundation, P.O. Box 151, Kutztown, PA 19530-0151 or Berks Visiting Nurse Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
