Mrs. Arline P. Mertz

Arline P. (Dietrich) Mertz, 90, of Kutztown, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Fairlane Gardens Nursing Home, Exeter Township. She was the widow of Ernest R. Mertz, who died April 28, 2014, and whom she married on September 24, 1949.

Born in Leesport, Arline was a daughter of the late George and Stella Dietrich. She was a graduate of Leesport High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown. Arline was employed by the former Kutztown Publishing Company and Kutztown Shoe Company but was most recently a homemaker. She was a member of Lyons and Kutztown Fire Companies and enjoyed word search puzzles, solitaire and quilting.

Arline is survived by her son, Eric R., husband of Amy L. (DeLong) Mertz, Kutztown; two grandchildren, Kourtney Shafer and Miranda Shafer; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Kline, Samantha Miller and Skylar Miller.

A graveside service to celebrate Arline's life, and burial, will take please on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Moselem Church Cemetery, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown (Richmond Township), PA, with The Reverend Mary Ann Hamm officiating.
