Arlan R Musser

Arlan R. “Butch” Musser, 67, of Topton, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Betty A. (Miller) Musser. They were married April 11, 1964.

Born in Fleetwood, he was a son of the late Wilmer E. and Elsie M. (Frederick) Musser. He was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Rockland Township, where he was a former church council member, former member of the call committee and formerly served on the church property committee. He was employed as a mechanic at Glidden Paints, Reading for 23 years until his retirement in 1999. After his retirement he was employed part-time by the County of Berks, Department of Parks and Recreation, as groundskeeper at Hunsicker’s Grove, Longswamp Township. Mr. Musser was a former Fire Chief of Lyons Volunteer Fire Company, No.1, Lyon Station, for three years during the mid 1960’s; Prior to that, he served several years as Assistant Chief. Arlan was an avid bowler, participating in the Monday night summer and winter leagues at Berks Lanes, Reading for many years.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Doreen M. (Musser) wife of Steven P. Seaman, Kutztown; Sons, Richard A. husband of Dana A. (Weaver) Musser and Blane A. husband of Jennifer A. (Dietrich) Musser, both of Topton. There are also 7 Grandchildren, Dane Michael Seaman, Cody James Seaman, Alyse Lynn Musser, Jessica Marie Musser, Madison Paige Musser, Andrew Jacob Musser and Bradley Aaron Musser.

Memorial Services are Monday, May 19, 2008, 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Private inurnment with Fireman’s Honors in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Rockland Township. Friends may call Monday, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
