Arlan D. Adam, 71, of Perry Township, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Ruth Ann (Wessner) Adam. They were married May 7, 1966.
Born in Greenwich Township, he was a son of the late Amos A. and Esther (Wiltrout) Adam. He was a member of Zion’s Lutheran Church, Shoemakersville. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He worked with his father on the family farm in Greenwich Township and later was a machine operator at McConway & Torley, Kutztown Foundry Division, Kutztown until his retirement in 2001.
He is survived by Wife; Daughter, Diane C. (Adam) wife of Mark A. Reilly, Hamburg; Sons, Daniel A. Adam, Mohrsville, Larry A. husband of Stacy L. (Seidel) Adam, Shoemakersville, and Darryl K. husband of Amy M. (Quick) Adam, Hamburg. Other survivors include a Sister, Dorothy (Adam) wife of Herbert Hoffman, Reading, and Brothers, Wayne A. Adam, Fleetwood and Marvin L. husband of Bertha (Stewart) Adam, Lenhartsville. In addition, there are 7 Grandchildren, Dustin Adam, Cody Reilly, Danielle, Brandon, Zachary, Ethan and Samantha Adam.
Funeral Services are Friday, April 30, 2010, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Dunkel’s Church Cemetery, Greenwich Township. Friends may call Thursday, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the funeral home.
Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Zion’s Lutheran Church, 354 Zion’s Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
