Annie M. King

Annie M. (Romig) King, 93, formerly of Alburtis, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, in Phoebe Health Care Center, Allentown. She was the widow of Ernest G. King, who died May 2, 1993.

Born in Longswamp Township, Annie was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Bessie F. (Moyer) Romig and was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis, and was a member of their choir for many years.

Annie was employed as a Nurse's Aide and Activities Aide at Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township, for over 10 years, until her retirement in 1988. She was a faithful volunteer at Phoebe - Allentown for 25 years and was loved by so many residents and caregivers.

Annie is survived by her daughter, Annette M. (King), wife of Peter Mattiuz, State College; and her son, Barry A., husband of Susan King, Allentown; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Tapyrik, Matthew Mattiuz, Aaron King and Olivia King. In addition to her husband, Ernest and parents, Annie was predeceased by her siblings Kermit B. Romig, Paul J. Romig, Verna C. (Romig) Frey, John L. Romig, Arlene M. (Romig) Reinert, Bruce W. Romig, Gene J. Romig, Lee G. Romig, and a sister in infancy.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Annie's life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, with The Reverend Dr. Matthew Gorkos, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., in the church. Private inurnment in Lehigh Zion Cemetery, Alburtis.
