Annette Marie “Netti” (Oswald) Reeves, 63, of Mertztown, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, April 27, 2024. Born in Allentown, Annette was a daughter of the late Bruce D. Oswald and Trene M. (Eltz) Oswald. Annette grew up in Topton and graduated from Brandywine Heights High School in 1978. That same summer, she married her high school sweetheart, Daniel E. Reeves on August 5, 1978.
While attending high school, Annette attended vocational-technical school and was a student in their dental assistant program. She worked as a dental assistant for several years and in sales and staging for Green Acres Mobile Home Community in Breinigsville. However, for most of her life, Annette was a seamstress. She was the co-owner of Bridals by Eileen, formerly of Kutztown, for 10 years, and was an independent contractor and seamstress for Skies Unlimited for over 30 years. Annette also specialized in embroidery and crocheting.
In her spare time, Annette enjoyed crafts, projects, painting and being creative. She was always making things for her friends and families such as hats, scarves, wedding dresses, flower dresses and Halloween costumes.
She would also use her talents to help create costumes and uniforms for area groups such as the Brandywine Minstrels and Brandywine Heights Wrestling.
Annette loved her family greatly. She was a devoted wife and spent most of her time with her husband on their farm homesteading, which they purchased together in 1983, and have been devoting their time to since. They grew numerous vegetables, sunflowers, raised chickens and bees. Annette could even be found gardening, on the tractor, doing carpentry work, or bailing hay. She enjoyed horse-back riding, shopping, hosting “themed” parties, and being around her family. She was a strong mother and compassionate grandmother who enjoyed showering them with love and support. She was the leader of her family and started many new traditions like cookie day, canning day and soup day. She was loved by her entire family and created many memories with them.
Along with her husband of 45 years, Daniel, Annette is survived by her two sons, Chad E. Reeves, Alburtis, and Cody D. Reeves, husband of Jaclyn N. (Irvin) Reeves, Pennsburg; two grandchildren, Shaelyn N. and Beau R. Reeves; brother, Roger B., husband of Gwen (McClain) Oswald, Nazareth; sister, Kris A. (Oswald), wife of Dennis W. Shoemaker, Mertztown; many beloved nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her beloved black pug, Murphy.
