Anna M. (Vargo) Herman, 91, formerly of Kutztown, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the widow of Kenneth D. Herman, who died January 3, 2017, and whom she married on October 28, 1950.
Born in Emmaus, Anna was a daughter of the late George and Suzanne (Semanisin) Vargo. She was a member of Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where she was a member of the women’s group. Anna was a Homemaker who took great pride in her home and family.
Anna is survived by her son, David K., husband of Michele (Markwordt) Herman, Fogelsville; two daughters, JoAnn K. Herman, Horsham, and Julie A. (Herman), wife of Todd A. O’Neil, Kutztown; four grandchildren, Emily S. (Herman), wife of Claude Touma, Natalie K. (Herman), wife of Joshua Schildt, Lindsay B. (Herman), wife of Blake Blomstrom, and Carly M. O’Neil; six great-grandchildren, Alexa M., Landon D., Sophia E., Cassidy R., Lena L., and Cecilia R.; and two brothers, Samuel Vargo, Battleground, WA and George A. Vargo, Emmaus; and was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Vargo.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Anna’s life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend James W. Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
