Anna M. “Ann” (Sterner) Dries, 67, of Kutztown, died peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in her residence. She was the widow of John W. Dries, who died October 16, 2010.

Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late William R.J. and Annetta V. (Mayberry) Sterner. She was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown. Mrs. Dries was a 1965 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton and Reading Area Community College, where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by Berks Heim Nursing Home, Leesport, for 17 years, retiring in 2010. Prior to that, she worked as a sewing machine operator for Adidas Shoe and the former Saucony Shoe Companies, Kutztown. Ann enjoyed traveling with her late husband, John. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, sister, and friend.

She is survived Daughter, Jennifer A. (Dries), wife of Jesse J. McIlvee, Mohrsville; Son, John P. Dries, companion of Randy L. Giles, Allentown; Granddaughter, Lindsey N. McIlvee, Mohrsville; Sister, Lillian L. (Sterner) Manmiller, Seaford, DE; Brother, James W., husband of Carol A. (Moll) Sterner, Boyertown. She was predeceased by a Brother, John R. Sterner in 1996.

Graveside services and inurnment will take place on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown, with Reverend Mary Ann Hamm officiating. There are no calling hours.

The family requests contributions be made in Anna's memory to the McGlinn Cancer Institute c/o Reading Health System, P.O. Box 16052, Reading, PA 19612-6052. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
