Anna Lou Rhode

Anna Lou Rhode, 75, of 226 Constitution Blvd., Kutztown, died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was married to Richard A. Rhode for 55 years in November.

Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Harry W. and Vesta A. (Gerhart) Shoemaker. She was a receptionist for Dr. John Robertson of Kutztown for 10 years before retiring in 1992. Previously, she was a secretary for Carl Bieber, Kutztown, for six years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, East Penn Chapter 336, Kutztown.

She is survived by Husband; Daughters, Louise E. Wessner and Karen B., both of Kutztown, Sue A. Kunkel of Kempton; Sister, Eva M. Bauer of Kutztown; Brothers, Harold P. of Mertztown, Carl W. of Wescosville; 4 Grandchildren, 3 Great Granddaughters.

Funeral services are Saturday at 11:00 AM from St. Paul’s UCC Church, 47-51 S. Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church.

Contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the church or Berks Visiting Nurse Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
