Anna L. Bales, age 83, formerly of 764 Huffs Church Road, Alburtis, PA, died May 31, 2003, in the residence of her daughter, Doreen K. (Bales) Barlet, 480 Dogwood Drive (Longswamp Twp., Berks County) Alburtis, PA. She was the widow of the late Gus Bales who died March 13, 1986.

Born in Hereford Twp., Berks County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Percy B. and the late Elsie I. (Gehris) Leh. She was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Huffs Union Church, Alburtis. She was a homeaker.

She is survived by her Sisters, Pearl L. (Leh) Hoffman, Boyertown, PA, Mary K. (Leh) Szilli, Barto, PA; Brother, Vernon E. Leh, Boyertown, PA; Sons, Richard A. Bales, Alburtis, PA, Carl R. Bales, Alburtis, PA; Daughters, Carolyn A. (Bales) Bauer, Alburtis, PA, Nancy L. (Bales) Meitzler, Alburtis, PA, Diane M. (Bales) Hartman, Boyertown, PA, Doreen K. (Bales) Barlet, with whom she resided, and Cindy S. (Bales) Derr, Kutztown, PA, 20 Grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by Twin Daughters, Jean and Joan Bales.

Funeral Services Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Huffs Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Friends may call Thursday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown PA.
