Anna J. Miller, 91, of Rockland Township, Fleetwood, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the residence of her daughter, Charlotte A. Snyder. She was the wife of the late Lloyd A. Miller who died on July 21, 2002.
Born in Rockland Township she was a daughter of the late Wilson R. and Jennie J. (Boyer) Hixson. She was a member of New Jerusalem UCC Church, Fleetwood, and their Ladies Aide Society; and, the Sunshine Society of both the Lutheran and UCC churches. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Fleetwood and Pricetown Senior Citizens and the Fleetwood Grange. Her hobbies included gardening, making fastnachts and canning. Her love of cooking lead her to become know as “the chow-chow lady” after her hobby turned into a small home business making thousands of jars of chow-chow.
She is survived by Daughters, Barbara E. (Miller) wife of Donald L. Baylor, Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Charlotte A. (Miller) wife of Luke A. Snyder and Janet D. (Miller) wife of Perry B. Lewis, both of Rockland Township; Sisters, Miriam B., Catharine H., Evelyn H., Violet M.; Brother, Wilson J.; 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by Sisters, Dorothy and Pauline.
Funeral Services are Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:30 AM in New Jerusalem UCC Church, 33 Lyons Road, Fleetwood. Interment in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions to New Jerusalem UCC Church Memorial Fund, 33 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
