Andrew G. Stasko, Sr., 71, of Macungie, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 31, 2009. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Jenkins) Stasko. On June 30 th they celebrated their 47 th wedding anniversary.
Born in Edwardsville, Luzerne County, PA, he was a son of the late Andrew and Catherine M. (Yahara) Stasko. He was a member of Saint Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Emmaus. He was a peacetime US Army veteran. Andy was a charter member of Dorneyville Lions Club, Allentown and previously served as treasurer. He was a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Andy was a member of Brookside Country Club of Allentown for 33 years and previously served on the Board of Directors. On April 20, 1986 Andy posted a double eagle at Brookside on the 495-yard, par 5 12 th hole for his first double eagle of his career. It was then followed by a hole-in-one on June 16, 1999. Andy also enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid Gin Rummy player. He worked as a certified public accountant first with Arthur Anderson & Co., New York, NY from 1959 to 1964; then Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Allentown from 1964 to 1979; when he joined Ametek, Inc. Paoli, Chester County, PA, until his retirement in 2001. Andy was a 1955 graduate of Dallas High School, Dallas, Luzerne County, PA; and a 1959 graduate of Penn State University, University Park, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration / accounting.
He is survived by Wife; Daughters, Karin D. (Stasko) wife of Thomas E. Cannon, North Wales, Montgomery County, Kimberly A. (Stasko) wife of David S. Iobst, Emmaus, Tamara L. (Stasko) wife of Brian C. Schilling, Elmhurst, Ill., and Erin M. (Stasko) wife of Douglas W. Ruth, Cetronia; and a Son, Sean M. husband of Kelly E. (Driggers) Stasko, Pittsboro, NC and a Daughter-in-law, Pamela K. (Kuhns) widow of predeceased son Andrew G. Stasko, Jr. who died September 13, 2004. There are two Sisters, K. Maureen (Stasko) Bracey, Bronxville, NY and Judith S. (Stasko) Hipple, Penns Park, Bucks County; Brother, Daniel J. Stasko, Dallas, PA. In addition there are 14 Grandchildren, Katee, Brian, and Kasey Cannon, Kristen, Andrew III and Dylan Stasko, Taylor, Brooke and David Iobst, Hannah, Christian and Jeremy Schilling and Alexis and Hunter Ruth. He is also survived by his Mother-in-law, Rachel R. (Taylor) Jenkins, at home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 1:00 PM from Saint Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 415 South 6 th Street, Emmaus. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown and Tuesday, noon to 1:00 PM in the church.
