Amy Elizabeth (DeTurk) Evans, 61, lifelong resident of Kutztown, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown and was reunited with her father and many other family and friends. Amy was a cherished member of her community and a devoted family woman who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born in West Reading, PA, Amy was the daughter of Merrily J. (Leibensperger) DeTurk (Ma) of Kutztown, and the late David W. DeTurk (Pa). She was the very patient and understanding wife of Todd M. Evans, whom she married on November 1, 2013. She was also the beloved mother to Sarah Elizabeth (Koenig), wife of Jeffrey A. Bricker, Kutztown; Rebecca Kate (Koenig), wife of Joseph A. Schrump, Kutztown, and Connor William Koenig, partner of Wynonna Kalbach, Hereford Twp., and David and Heidi Jo (Heddings) Evans, Wasilla, AK, whom she loved with all her heart, and was the adoring Nana to Harper Elizabeth and Emerson Jewel Bricker, Winry Jordan Neal, and Harrison Joseph Schrump. She is also survived by her sister, Kimberly A. (DeTurk), wife of Brian Miller, Blandon, and their family; and her four-legged companion, Phoebe.

Amy was a 1982 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, where she was a member of many musical ensembles. She received her Insurance License in 2004. Over the years, Amy worked for John J. Robertson, M.D., in Kutztown, and Carl Weller and Steve Drasher State Farm agents in Kutztown. Amy began working for Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., of Kutztown and Topton., in 2006, and after a brief hiatus, returned in 2023 to fulfill her passion for helping people in their time of need. Amy started their aftercare program and held monthly luncheons for families that they served, and planned cookie baking, donation drives, and bus trips for all those who participated. She also was secretary for her husband's business, Evans Cemetery Memorials, and she also took joy in celebrating with others with her sign company, Yard Card Queen, Kutztown/Eastern Lehigh County.

Amy was a member and past president of Kutztown Lion's Club, former coordinator for Kutztown Relay For Life, current President of Topton Community Ambulance, and member of Kutztown Fire & Rescue, Kutztown. She also was a member of the board of the former Northeastern Berks EMS, Kutztown and Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries and the reunion group, "The 28 Large" Pop Group from Kutztown Area High School.Amy had a dire love for music. She was a huge Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond fan among many other artists. She loved traveling, cruising, spending time at her lake house, and spending time with her children and their families. Amy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, humor, and unwavering support for her family and friends. She had an innate ability to bring people together and to make each person feel valued and loved. Her laughter and smile will forever echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Amy's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, promptly at 11:00 a.m. in Kutztown Area High School Auditorium, 50 Trexler Avenue, Kutztown, with The Reverend James W. Schlegel and The Reverend Arthur L. Hahn co-officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.Viewings will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Kutztown Area High School Auditorium. In Amy's honor, please wear blue and/or green in lieu of black. As we come together to remember Amy, let us reflect on her warmth and generosity, celebrating the beautiful person she was and the profound impact she made in our lives. She will always be remembered with love and gratitude.
