Mr. Allen Francis King

Allen Francis King, 70, of Fleetwood, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday evening, July 7, 2023 in his residence. He was the loving husband of Janet M. (Vanderpool) King, whom he married on February 28, 2015.

Born in Plattsburgh, NY, Allen was a son of the late John Francis "Jack" King, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann (Drollette) King, and was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School. He was Catholic in faith. Allen honorably, faithfully and willingly served his country in The United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement, Allen was employed by Alcon, Sinking Spring, as a CNC machinist for 15 years. He has a love for life and was a true animal lover. Allen cared for many cats throughout the years and was passionate about rescuing, rehabilitating, and giving them a loving home. He also enjoyed looking at antiques and making people laugh.

Along with his wife of eight years, Janet, Allen is survived by his two sisters, Pamela King, partner of Russell Stone, Plattsburgh, NY and Carol Ann (King), wife of Richard Lapierre, West Chazy, NY; Janet's parents, Francis J. and Ethel E. (Wells) Vanderpool, Lyons; and many nieces and nephews.

A prayer service and reflection time to celebrate and honor Allen's life will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Military honors rendered by The Pennsylvania Funeral Honor Guard will conclude services. Burial will be held privately and there are no calling hours.
