Alfred Hand, III, 78, of Kutztown, formerly of Allentown, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, after a valiant fight against Parkinson's Disease, with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Dorothy Ann (Stravino) Hand, whom he married October 14, 1989.
Born in Riverside, Ill., he was a son of the late Alfred, Jr., and Mary Elizabeth Hand. Alfred was a member of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, Kutztown, where he served as an usher. He was a former member of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, Allentown, where he was a choir member. Mr. Hand worked as a senior technician for NCR Corp., Chicago, until his retirement in 1998.
In addition to his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Ann, Alfred, is survived by two Daughters, Jean (Hand) Ose and Judy (Hand) Dobai; 5 Step Children, Dr. Christopher Nagy, James Nagy, Timothy Nagy, Martha Nagy and Abigail Mirarchi. Other survivors include a Sister, Louise (Hand) widow of Samuel Im; 4 Grandchildren, Jacqueline, Alexandra, Matthew and Samuel.
A funeral liturgy will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, 234 East Main Street, Kutztown. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, Wescosville. There are no calling hours.
