Aidin M. Burkholder

Aidin M. Burkholder, 78, of Richmond Township, died suddenly on Monday, September 8, 2025, on his family farm in Richmond Township as a result of a heavy machinery accident. He was the husband of Frances Z. (Hoover) Burkholder. They were married on April 19, 2012. His first wife, Mariah M. (Zimmerman) Burkholder, died October 23, 2010. Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, Aidin was a son of the late Samuel O., and Magdalena W. (Martin) Burkholder. He was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Richmond Township.

Aidin and his family were crop farmers in Richmond Township.

In addition to his wife, Frances, Aiden is survived by his children: Ethel Z. (Burkholder), wife of Lloyd Z. Nolt, Kutztown; Linda Z. (Burkholder), wife of Leon M. Burkholder, Kutztown; Kenneth Z., husband of Elvina Z. (Burkholder) Burkholder, Fleetwood; Nevin Z., husband of Stella Z. (Burkholder) Burkholder, Fleetwood; Ruth Ann Z. (Burkholder), wife of Paul S. Brubacher, Lenhartsville; Grace Z. (Burkholder), wife of John Aaron Zimmerman, Fleetwood; Neil Z., husband of Mabel Z. (Burkholder) Burkholder, Fleetwood; LeRoy Z., husband of Jolene N. (Weaver) Burkholder, Fleetwood; and Sara Jane (Burkholder), wife of Eli Z. Burkholder, Kutztown. Other survivors include 64 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. There are also two brothers, Lewis M., husband of Jane Z. (Martin) Burkholder, Shippensburg; and Samuel R., husband of Anna Mary (Hoover) Burkholder, Ephrata; and five sisters, Jane M. (Burkholder), wife of Floyd M. Nolt, New Holland, Lancaster County; Lucy M. (Burkholder), widow of Ivan G. Hoover, Ephrata; Nora M. (Burkholder), widow of Harvey Z. Hoover, East Earl; Clara M. (Burkholder), wife of Mahlon Z. Horning, Penn Yan, NY; and Martha M. Burkholder, Ephrata.

In addition to his first wife, Mariah, and his parents, Aidin was predeceased by a grandson, Anson E. Burkholder; two great grandchildren, Shiloh and Selah Burkholder; a brother, Enos M. Burkholder, husband of Mabel H. (Good), Burkholder, Fleetwood; a sister, Alma M. (Burkholder), wife of Luke M. Nolt, Ephrata; and three brothers-in-law, Ivan G. Hoover; Harvey Z. Hoover; and Elam R. Hoover.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Fleetwood Mennonite Church, 985 Fleetwood - Lyons Road, Fleetwood, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating. Interment in the adjoining Fleetwood Mennonite Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the late residence, 171 Mine Road, Fleetwood (Richmond Township). Kindly omit flowers.

Pall Bearers will be Wesley B. Nolt, Virgil G. Burkholder, Travis W. Burkholder, Wilson P. Burkholder, Daryl B. Brubacher and Javon B. Zimmerman.
